Power School Customization Workshop - Part 1
Thursday February 13, 2025 2:20pm - 3:00pm MST
Despite the fact that last year's customization workshop was somewhat derailed by technical issues, this year is not a simple re-hash of last year.  I'll provide last year's activities as an attachment for anyone who missed it.

Last year we started with the dashboard, reviewing existing data.

This year we will start by describing a business need and planning out, then creating, several database tables to support that process.

Over this two-part workshop, we'll then go through implementing the various tools relating to that process including:
a) Creating add/edit screens
b) Creating division and school-level control and configuration pages
c) Creating tools to make mass changes
d) Creating import/export tools, including a PowerQuery useful for synchronizing data with other systems.

There are a number of interesting ways that this project can develop, depending upon the interest of activity participants.  There should be things familiar to the most basic of PowerSchool customizers to allow you to get your footing as we ultimately develop the framework for a simple yet powerful customization.

*Note: Attendees will need to have access to their own test server in order to actively participate - the presenter is unable to provide a test environment.

Rethinking Returning Student Registration @ EIPS
Thursday February 13, 2025 2:20pm - 3:00pm MST
Elk Island Public Schools asks current students' families to share their intentions for student registration each Spring for the upcoming school year.
This year, we made significant changes to the timelines, processes, and technologies that were used to accomplish this.
Join us for an exploration of the challenges that provoked the change, the solutions implemented, and a post-project review of what went well and how we plan to again improve the process for 2025.
Bring your questions and insights from similar processes at your division - conversation encouraged!

Thursday February 13, 2025 3:25pm - 4:05pm MST
We will cover the many little things that can help as you transition from PowerSchool Parent fields to using the PowerSchool Contacts, if you have questions about this move and how you can fix some of the issues that arise, this is the session for you.  If you have any specific questions, I am sure that someone in this group will be able to help or give direction.  Powerschool Contacts will be necessary for the future with Parent/Guardian integration with PASI.
